The Abdi family fled Ethiopia - help them rebuild in Coventry
Help a family of 7 start their new life in Coventry: furniture, rent deposit and language classes.

My family left Ethiopia 7 months ago after the conflict closed our school and clinic. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in Coventry. We're a family of six and we're safe, but we arrived with very little.
Our resettlement agency has provided 4 months of rent, and that support ends in December.
I was a nurse in Ethiopia, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well.
We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months.
Funds are managed by the Coventry Refugee Support Network, a registered organization, which pays the landlord and suppliers on the family's behalf.
Where the $3,600 goes:
• Winter clothing and school supplies: $440
• Rent deposit and first month: $1,750
• Phone and internet for school and job search: $240
• Beds, table and basic furniture: $1,170
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Rooting for you, Alexander. It takes guts to ask. Well done. I'm in construction myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Love from Giza
Praying for you. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Love from Chattogram.
