Ikeja
Tayo was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer in July. The oncology team at Ikeja University Hospital has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in September. He will be away from work for about 4 weeks. Tayo is 42, worked as a taxi driver until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Ikeja University Hospital 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $1,150 goes: • Scans and lab work: $115 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $690 • Household costs while unable to work: $250 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $95 Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

  • is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Tayo

    • Scans and lab work is $115 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. Ask me anything else.

  • Hang in there, Yakubu. This could happen to any of us.
