Sycamore Park needs a community fridge - Salvatore's neighborhood project
A community-led a community fridge at Sycamore Park that will serve 158 neighbors.
Anywhere in the world1,407 views
For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 10 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Sycamore Park, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $3,350.
It will serve about 158 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $3,350 goes:
• Materials: $2,700
• Permits and inspections: $180
• Safety equipment and signage: $320
• Tools hire and delivery: $150
Thank you so much.

Sending good thoughts, Salvatore. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Put this on a community board in San Diego this morning. All the best.
Wishing you the best, Salvatore. Shared it with a few friends. My neighbor in Kano donated after I showed her your page.
Praying for you. Shared this with my family. Greetings from Jacksonville.
Good luck, Salvatore. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Sent it to 14 people at work.
