Huyền was diagnosed with a herniated spinal disc in August. The surgeon at Saint Elizabeth Hospital recommended valve repair surgery, and She is scheduled for November. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $6,250, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $4,600 short. my mother has been in and out of Saint Elizabeth Hospital since August. The doctors say a herniated spinal disc will get worse without valve repair surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $6,250 is more than we can find. While we wait, Huyền struggles with daily life and can't look after the children alone. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Rehabilitation is expected to take about 12 weeks. During that time Huyền won't be able to look after the children alone, so the costs keep growing. I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section. Where the $4,600 goes: • Physiotherapy sessions: $560 • Post-operative medication: $190 • Hospital stay (5 nights): $3,850 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
