Storm in London: help the Millbrook neighborhood rebuild
Neighbors in the Millbrook neighborhood are rebuilding after the storm; every contribution goes to materials and supplies.
🇬🇧 London, England, United Kingdom5,878 views
The storm hit the Millbrook neighborhood on 2 April. My home was one of 48 damaged, and 9 families are still in temporary shelter at the sports club.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
Funds go to building materials, water purification supplies, bedding, and food for families still in shelters.
Where the $8,000 goes:
• Roofing sheets and timber: $4,200
• Clean water and purification supplies: $690
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $1,250
• Food parcels for displaced families: $1,050
• Tools and labor for repairs: $810
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

What exactly is the $8,000 for?
Roofing sheets and timber is $4,200 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page.
