Stop the eviction: 5 months of rent for Ximena's family in Ciudad de México
After the loss of a second income, Ximena is 5 months behind on rent and has a court summons for non-payment from the landlord.

When the call centre closed in June, I fell 5 months behind on rent. Last Saturday a court summons for non-payment was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $1,150.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by October, we must leave.
I have two young children at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working night deliveries, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $1,150 goes:
• Rent arrears (5 months): $910
• Late fees and court costs: $45
• Utilities in arrears: $35
• First month of rent as a buffer: $160
I hope life is good to you.

Best of luck, Ximena. It takes guts to ask. Well done. I'm in nursing myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. All the best.
