Stop the eviction: 5 months of rent for Kamil's family in Katowice
A cut in working hours left Kamil short on rent for 5 months; help us stay in our home.

When my hours were cut in half in July, Kamil fell 5 months behind on rent. Last Saturday a 10-day notice to quit was taped to the door, and the amount owed is $1,900.
The landlord was understanding for a while, but has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by October, the family must leave.
There are 2 children at home. Moving would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
Kamil has started working two part-time jobs, and is applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $1,900 goes:
• Rent arrears (5 months): $1,350
• Late fees and court costs: $115
• Utilities in arrears: $70
• First month of rent as a buffer: $365
