Stop the eviction: 5 months of rent for Giovana's family in Maringá
A cut in working hours left Giovana short on rent for 5 months; help us stay in our home.

After a car accident that kept me from work for 5 weeks, I fell 5 months behind on rent. Last Wednesday a court summons for non-payment was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $650.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by November, we must leave.
I have a toddler and a baby at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working extra hours at a market stall, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
The money will be paid directly to the landlord and I'll upload the receipt once it's done.
Where the $650 goes:
• Utilities in arrears: $30
• Late fees and court costs: $70
• Rent arrears (5 months): $550
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Hope things get better soon, Giovana. I hope things turn around soon. Wish I lived closer to Flint so I could bring a meal. Take care

Rooting for you, Giovana. Your post was clear and honest.
Take care, Giovana. This could happen to any of us. My neighbor in Augsburg donated after I showed her your page. Greetings from Augsburg!
