Stop the eviction: 4 months of rent for Lena's family in Augsburg
The loss of a second income left Lena short on rent for 4 months; help us stay in our home.
🇩🇪 Augsburg, Bavaria, Germany4,096 views
After a sudden layoff at the textile factory, I fell 4 months behind on rent. Last Friday a court summons for non-payment was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $3,000.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by October, we must leave.
I have two young children at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working weekend shifts, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $3,000 goes:
• Rent arrears (4 months): $1,900
• Late fees and court costs: $220
• Utilities in arrears: $260
• First month of rent as a buffer: $620
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
