Stop the eviction: 3 months of rent for Srinivas's family in Vadodara
A car accident left Srinivas short on rent for 3 months; help us stay in our home.
🇮🇳 India2,312 views
When the restaurant closed in January, I fell 3 months behind on rent. Last Monday a termination letter was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $650.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by May, we must leave.
I have a teenager still in school at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working two part-time jobs, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
The money will be paid directly to the landlord and I'll upload the receipt once it's done.
Where the $650 goes:
• Rent arrears (3 months): $420
• Late fees and court costs: $40
• Utilities in arrears: $45
• First month of rent as a buffer: $145
Thanks for reading all this.

42% there. I made the first payment toward utilities in arrears. Thank you.
Thank you all. We're at 27% now ($177). I'm honestly stunned. I met with the landlord and confirmed the amounts. - Srinivas

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Srinivas
Sure. The biggest one is rent arrears (3 months), $420. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Thanks for asking.
hope it all works out, Srinivas. Hope you get there. God bless.
Hang in there, Srinivas. Hope you get there
Keep going, Srinivas. Rent stress is the worst. Hope this helps. We're a small family in St. Petersburg but we're thinking of you.
