Stop the eviction: 3 months of rent for Kamal's family in Fresno
A court summons for non-payment arrived last week. Kamal needs $5,050 to clear the arrears and stay housed in Fresno.

Following a long illness in the family, I fell 3 months behind on rent. Last Saturday a court summons for non-payment was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $5,050.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by November, we must leave.
I have three school-aged children at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working evenings as a cleaner, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
The money will be paid directly to the landlord and I'll upload the receipt once it's done.
Where the $5,050 goes:
• Rent arrears (3 months): $3,150
• Late fees and court costs: $420
• Utilities in arrears: $330
• First month of rent as a buffer: $1,150
With deep gratitude,
Kamal

Take care. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I hope November is when things finally get easier.
You're not alone. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. After 17 years in nursing I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Greetings from Newcastle
