Stop the eviction: 3 months of rent for Hina's family in Rawalpindi
The loss of a second income left Hina short on rent for 3 months; help us stay in our home.
Anywhere in the world510 views
After a sudden layoff at the bakery, Hina fell 3 months behind on rent. Last Sunday a 10-day notice to quit was taped to the door, and the amount owed is $150.
The landlord was understanding for a while, but has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by August, the family must leave.
There are three school-aged children at home. Moving would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
Hina has started working evenings as a cleaner, and is applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $150 goes:
• Late fees and court costs: $30
• Utilities in arrears: $20
• First month of rent as a buffer: $100

Hope things get better soon. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. We're a small family in São Paulo but we're thinking of you.
Wishing you peace. Looking forward to the next update. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like
