Stop the eviction: 3 months of rent for Athumani's family in Dar es Salaam
A 10-day notice to quit arrived last week. Athumani needs $200 to clear the arrears and stay housed in Dar es Salaam.

When my hours were cut in half in March, Athumani fell 3 months behind on rent. Last Tuesday a 10-day notice to quit was taped to the door, and the amount owed is $200.
The landlord was understanding for a while, but has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by July, the family must leave.
There are three school-aged children at home. Moving would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
Athumani has started working night deliveries, and is applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
The money will be paid directly to the landlord and I'll upload the receipt once it's done.
Where the $200 goes:
• Late fees and court costs: $35
• Utilities in arrears: $50
• First month of rent as a buffer: $115
