Stop the eviction: 3 months of rent for Arturo's family in Bogotá
A car accident left Arturo short on rent for 3 months; help us stay in our home.
🇨🇴 Bogotá, Bogotá D.C., Colombia2,025 views
After a sudden layoff at the packaging plant, I fell 3 months behind on rent. Last Thursday a court summons for non-payment was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $750.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by October, we must leave.
I have a toddler and a baby at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working extra hours at a market stall, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $750 goes:
• Late fees and court costs: $85
• First month of rent as a buffer: $175
• Rent arrears (3 months): $490
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

Sending strength. I hope things turn around soon. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Greetings from Pittsburgh.
