Stop the eviction: 2 months of rent for Samir's family in Salé

A notice to vacate arrived last week. Samir needs $800 to clear the arrears and stay housed in Salé.

Following a long illness in the family, I fell 2 months behind on rent. Last Thursday a notice to vacate was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $800. My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by December, we must leave. I have two young children at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else. I have started working evenings as a cleaner, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here. Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent. Where the $800 goes: • Rent arrears (2 months): $550 • Late fees and court costs: $65 • Utilities in arrears: $45 • First month of rent as a buffer: $140 Thanks for being kind about this.
