Stop the eviction: 2 months of rent for Layla's family in Cairo
A 10-day notice to quit arrived last week. Layla needs $500 to clear the arrears and stay housed in Cairo.

Following a long illness in the family, I fell 2 months behind on rent. Last Friday a 10-day notice to quit was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $500.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by March, we must leave.
I've 1 children at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working two part-time jobs, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
The money will be paid directly to the landlord and I'll upload the receipt once it's done.
Where the $500 goes:
• Rent arrears (2 months): $320
• First month of rent as a buffer: $95
• Late fees and court costs: $85
Glad we found this place.
