Stop the eviction: 2 months of rent for Arturo's family in San Jose
After a car accident, Arturo is 2 months behind on rent and has a notice to vacate from the landlord.

When my hours were cut in half in February, I fell 2 months behind on rent. Last Monday a notice to vacate was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $3,150.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by May, we must leave.
I have three school-aged children at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working weekend shifts, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
The money will be paid directly to the landlord and I'll upload the receipt once it's done.
Where the $3,150 goes:
• Rent arrears (2 months): $1,950
• Late fees and court costs: $320
• Utilities in arrears: $160
• First month of rent as a buffer: $720

Rooting for you. This could happen to any of us. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. God bless.
Thinking of you, Arturo. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. After 26 years in public service I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Greetings from Thủ Đức
Hope things get better soon. Hope you get there. Put this on a community board in Patna this morning.
Wishing you peace, Arturo. Your post was clear and honest. Take care.
Sending strength. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Greetings from Katowice.
