Stop the eviction: 2 months of rent for Arnel's family in Lapu-Lapu
After a long illness, Arnel is 2 months behind on rent and has a 10-day notice to quit from the landlord.

After a car accident that kept me from work for 7 weeks, I fell 2 months behind on rent. Last Tuesday a 10-day notice to quit was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $550.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by April, we must leave.
I've 1 children at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working night deliveries, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $550 goes:
• First month of rent as a buffer: $125
• Utilities in arrears: $20
• Rent arrears (2 months): $405
Thanks for being kind about this.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Arnel.
First month of rent as a buffer is $125 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. Thanks, that means a lot.
best of luck. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My husband and I read this together
any update on how things are going in Lapu-Lapu?
Wishing you peace. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. All the best
I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Don't give up. Thinking of Lapu-Lapu.
hope it all works out. This could happen to any of us. I'll check back for the next update. God bless.
A secure home matters so much. Hope you're settled soon. After 9 years in nursing I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Thinking of Lapu-Lapu.
