Start-up fund for Wawan: reopening a neighborhood bakery after floodwater
Wawan lost a commercial oven to floodwater and needs $350 to reopen a neighborhood bakery and support the family.

For four years I have run a neighborhood bakery in Jakarta. In December, floodwater took a commercial oven. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Tuesday, and I employed 3 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 5 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go.
Where the $350 goes:
• Replacing a commercial oven: $155
• Initial stock: flour, butter and sugar: $95
• Shop repairs and licensing: $75
• Working capital for the first month: $25
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

Thinking of you. Small businesses are the heart of Jakarta. Hope you're open again soon. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. All the best.
