Muzaffarpur
For nine years I have run a laundry service in Muzaffarpur. In July, a storm that collapsed the roof took two washing machines and a dryer. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me. Before that, my customers came every Tuesday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 8 weeks. This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment. Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item. Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go. Where the $350 goes: • Replacing two washing machines and a dryer: $125 • Initial stock: detergent and packaging: $75 • Shop repairs and licensing: $35 • Working capital for the first month: $115 Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

Updates from Vani

  1. Quick update: $198 raised so far (57%). we've booked the dates and paid the deposit. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.

  2. Good news. Because of your gifts ($117 in total) I met with the supplier and confirmed the amounts. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  3. Thank you all. We're at 44% now ($153). I'm honestly stunned. the first invoice got paid this week.
