Start-up fund for Tshepo: reopening a neighborhood bakery after a long illness and repossession
Tshepo has run a neighborhood bakery for nine years; a long illness and repossession destroyed the equipment, and $400 will put it back on its feet.

For nine years I have run a neighborhood bakery in Gqeberha. In May, a long illness and repossession took a commercial oven. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Tuesday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 7 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go.
Where the $400 goes:
• Working capital for the first month: $165
• Shop repairs and licensing: $130
• Initial stock: flour, butter and sugar: $105
Thanks for being kind about this.

thinking of you. I'd happily buy from you once you're back up. Take care
Rooting for you. Shared this with my family. My husband and I read this together. Take care.
So sorry you're going through this. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. After 20 years in retail I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Thinking of Gqeberha.
Thanks for sharing this, Tshepo. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes.
wishing you peace. Hope the shop reopens soon
