Start-up fund for Sergio: reopening a street-food cart after a break-in
Sergio has run a street-food cart for fifteen years; a break-in destroyed the equipment, and $1,050 will put it back on its feet.

For fifteen years I have run a street-food cart in Ciudad de México. In December, a break-in took a gas stove and two refrigerators. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Friday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 7 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go.
Where the $1,050 goes:
• Working capital for the first month: $260
• Replacing a gas stove and two refrigerators: $610
• Shop repairs and licensing: $180

Stay strong. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Thinking of Ciudad de México.
Take care, Sergio. I'd happily buy from you once you're back up. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Take care.
