Sandeep has run a bicycle repair shop for fifteen years; a break-in destroyed the equipment, and $400 will put it back on its feet.

For fifteen years I have run a bicycle repair shop in Lalitpur. In August, a break-in took a full set of tools. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me. Before that, my customers came every Monday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 5 weeks. This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment. Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item. Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go. Where the $400 goes: • Initial stock: spare parts: $120 • Working capital for the first month: $75 • Replacing a full set of tools: $205 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Thank you. If you're in Lalitpur I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. Thanks for asking.

  • hope it all works out, Sandeep. Hope this works out for you. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day.

    • Wishing you peace, Sandeep. Hope you make a strong comeback. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like.
