Start-up fund for Rick: reopening a bicycle repair shop after the demolition of the market
A bicycle repair shop in Amsterdam needs help replacing a full set of tools after the demolition of the market.
🇳🇱 Amsterdam, North Holland, Netherlands1,568 views
For three years I have run a bicycle repair shop in Amsterdam. In August, the demolition of the market took a full set of tools. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Wednesday, and I employed 1 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 6 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go.
Where the $3,700 goes:
• Replacing a full set of tools: $2,400
• Initial stock: spare parts: $340
• Shop repairs and licensing: $440
• Working capital for the first month: $520
If you're reading this, thank you.

So sorry you're going through this, Rick. Small businesses are the heart of Amsterdam. Hope you're open again soon. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. All the best.
