Start-up fund for Priya: reopening a neighborhood bakery after floodwater
Priya lost a commercial oven to floodwater and needs $550 to reopen a neighborhood bakery and support the family.

For four years I have run a neighborhood bakery in Mumbai. In April, floodwater took a commercial oven. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Monday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 6 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go.
Where the $550 goes:
• Working capital for the first month: $80
• Initial stock: flour, butter and sugar: $45
• Replacing a commercial oven: $425
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Wishing you the best, Priya. I'd happily buy from you once you're back up. I'm in construction myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. All the best
shared this with my family. After 30 years in teaching I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Greetings from Thane
