Start-up fund for Josefin: reopening a barbershop after floodwater
A barbershop in Södertälje needs help replacing clippers, chairs and mirrors after floodwater.
🇸🇪 Södertälje, Stockholm, Sweden839 views
For nine years I have run a barbershop in Södertälje. In November, floodwater took clippers, chairs and mirrors. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Thursday, and I employed 3 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 7 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go.
Where the $4,200 goes:
• Replacing clippers, chairs and mirrors: $2,800
• Initial stock: supplies: $630
• Shop repairs and licensing: $530
• Working capital for the first month: $240
Every share and every dollar helps.

Hope things get better soon. I'd happily buy from you once you're back up. Put this on a community board in Varanasi this morning. All the best.
is there anything that isn't money that would help Josefin?
Thank you. If you're in Södertälje I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great.
Shared it with a few friends. I'm in nursing myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Take care.
hang in there. I hope things turn around soon. Sent it to 4 people at work. Take care!
Sending good thoughts. Your post was clear and honest. My mother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Blessings.
keep going, Josefin. Hope you make a strong comeback. All the best.
