Start-up fund for Hong: reopening a barbershop after floodwater
A barbershop in Sherbrooke needs help replacing clippers, chairs and mirrors after floodwater.
🇨🇦 Canada1,714 views
For nine years I have run a barbershop in Sherbrooke. In January, floodwater took clippers, chairs and mirrors. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Saturday, and I employed 3 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 4 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go.
Where the $4,100 goes:
• Shop repairs and licensing: $530
• Replacing clippers, chairs and mirrors: $3,100
• Initial stock: supplies: $470
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Is there anything that isn't money that would help Hong?
Thank you. If you're in Sherbrooke I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. Good question.
Hope it all works out, Hong. Looking forward to the next update.
Praying for you, Hong. Hope the shop reopens soon. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry.
You're not alone. Hope you get there. Take care
