Start-up fund for Hatem: reopening a barbershop after a long illness and repossession

Hatem has run a barbershop for nine years; a long illness and repossession destroyed the equipment, and $2,150 will put it back on its feet.

Mecca
For nine years I have run a barbershop in Mecca. In March, a long illness and repossession took clippers, chairs and mirrors. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me. Before that, my customers came every Wednesday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 7 weeks. This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment. Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item. Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go. Where the $2,150 goes: โ€ข Replacing clippers, chairs and mirrors: $1,700 โ€ข Initial stock: supplies: $270 โ€ข Shop repairs and licensing: $180 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
