Start-up fund for Franco: reopening a laundry service after floodwater
Franco lost two washing machines and a dryer to floodwater and needs $2,550 to reopen a laundry service and support the family.

For four years I have run a laundry service in Rome. In July, floodwater took two washing machines and a dryer. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Thursday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 6 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go.
Where the $2,550 goes:
• Replacing two washing machines and a dryer: $1,450
• Initial stock: detergent and packaging: $490
• Shop repairs and licensing: $320
• Working capital for the first month: $290
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

Sending good thoughts. Small businesses are the heart of Rome. Hope you're open again soon. Take care.
Sending good thoughts, Franco. I'd happily buy from you once you're back up. It's not much but it's yours.
Praying for you. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry
