Start-up fund for Brian: reopening a barbershop after a break-in
Brian has run a barbershop for four years; a break-in destroyed the equipment, and $2,600 will put it back on its feet.

For four years I have run a barbershop in Birmingham. In April, a break-in took clippers, chairs and mirrors. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Friday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 6 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go.
Where the $2,600 goes:
• Replacing clippers, chairs and mirrors: $1,150
• Initial stock: supplies: $570
• Shop repairs and licensing: $270
• Working capital for the first month: $610
Thanks for being kind about this.

wishing you the best. Small businesses are the heart of Birmingham. Hope you're open again soon. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double!
Wishing you the best, Brian. This could happen to any of us. After 22 years in farming I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
