Standing with Wyatt: stomach cancer treatment costs
8 rounds of treatment are planned at Los Angeles Cancer Centre; we're asking for help with the costs insurance doesn't cover.
🇺🇸 United States691 views
In July I was diagnosed with stomach cancer. My oncology team at Los Angeles Cancer Centre has planned 8 rounds of treatment, and the first starts in November. I was told to expect about 5 weeks away from work.
I never imagined I'd be writing something like this. I'm 35, I worked as a bakery worker until July, and I have been the main earner for my household.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, transport to Los Angeles Cancer Centre 5 times a week, and the income I have lost add up quickly.
My family is doing everything they can, but we've already sold what we could and are borrowing for groceries.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $12,200 goes:
• Household costs while unable to work: $1,550
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $710
• Scans and lab work: $960
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $8,980
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

Stay strong, Wyatt. Hope you get there. Sent it to 15 people at work. Greetings from Karachi
what's already covered and what's the $12,200 for?
Household costs while unable to work is $1,550 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. Fair thing to want to know.
Sending good thoughts. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. Thinking of Los Angeles.
reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Greetings from Akron.
