Standing with Ruairi: stage 3 ovarian cancer treatment costs
8 rounds of treatment are planned at the Galway Oncology Institute; we're asking for help with the costs insurance doesn't cover.

Ruairi was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer in October. The oncology team at the Galway Oncology Institute has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in December. He will be away from work for about 7 weeks.
Ruairi is 37, worked as a farmer until October, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Galway Oncology Institute 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $8,900 goes:
• Household costs while unable to work: $970
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $660
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $7,270
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.
