Hubballi
Pooja was diagnosed with stomach cancer in August. The oncology team at the Hubballi Oncology Institute has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in October. She will be away from work for about 8 weeks. Pooja is 51, worked as a primary school teacher until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Hubballi Oncology Institute 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $1,650 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $760 • Scans and lab work: $260 • Transport to the Hubballi Oncology Institute: $110 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $105 • Household costs while unable to work: $415 Every share and every dollar helps. - Ravi
