Standing with Luís: stage 3 ovarian cancer treatment costs

Luís was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer in May. The oncology team at São Paulo University Hospital has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in September. He will be away from work for about 5 weeks.
Luís is 52, worked as a shop owner until May, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to São Paulo University Hospital 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $1,600 goes:
• Household costs while unable to work: $640
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $175
• Scans and lab work: $440
• Transport to São Paulo University Hospital: $345
