Georgina was diagnosed with kidney cancer in March. The oncology team at Accra Regional Medical Center has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in June. She will be away from work for about 4 weeks. Georgina is 26, worked as a shop owner until March, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Accra Regional Medical Center 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes. Where the $1,600 goes: • Household costs while unable to work: $220 • Transport to Accra Regional Medical Center: $85 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,050 • Scans and lab work: $245 Every share and every dollar helps.

  • Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Georgina

Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. household costs while unable to work comes first ($220) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. It helps to be asked.

  • Sending good thoughts. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. Thinking of Accra.

    • Sending love, Fiifi. Gave what I could, wish it was more. I went through something like this 12 years ago and strangers helped me out. Blessings.
