Standing with Caroline: early-stage lung cancer treatment costs
Supporting Caroline through early-stage lung cancer: medication, transport to Nakuru Cancer Centre, and living costs while She can't work.
🇰🇪 Kenya728 views
Caroline was diagnosed with early-stage lung cancer in June. The oncology team at Nakuru Cancer Centre has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in August. She will be away from work for about 4 weeks.
Caroline is 50, worked as a primary school teacher until June, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Nakuru Cancer Centre 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $900 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $630
• Scans and lab work: $130
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $140
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
