Standing with Ahmed: stage 2 breast cancer treatment costs

Ahmed was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in September. The oncology team at the Cape Town Oncology Institute has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in October. He will be away from work for about 4 weeks. Ahmed is 37, worked as a hairdresser until September, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Cape Town Oncology Institute 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
