Sita needs my taxi repaired to get back to work in Kathmandu
Sita drives for a living in Kathmandu, and a broken gearbox has stopped all income for 4 weeks.

I make my living with my taxi. 4 weeks ago the gearbox failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $250. Without the vehicle I earn nothing.
I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask.
I support my two daughters and my mother. Before the breakdown I worked eleven hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next six months if I can just get the vehicle working.
I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here.
All money will go toward the parts and labor on the estimate, with a small amount for road tax and insurance renewal.
Where the $250 goes:
• gearbox replacement (parts): $140
• Labor charges: $50
• Road tax and insurance renewal: $20
• Towing and inspection: $40
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

Hope things get better soon, Sita. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Love from Albany.
small businesses are the heart of Kathmandu. Hope you're open again soon
Praying for you, Sita. Your post was clear and honest. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like.
