Senait's final semester of a degree in social work in Mekelle
A first-generation student, Senait needs help covering tuition for the final stretch of a degree in social work.

Senait is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a degree in social work at the Mekelle Institute of Technology, and is one term away from graduating. She has worked as a warehouse packer to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $750.
The registrar has said Senait can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Senait has a top-ten-percent average, and a department head has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Senait would lose her place and scholarship eligibility.
Senait isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the the Mekelle Institute of Technology bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
Where the $750 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $280
• Final term tuition: $420
• Exam and lab fees: $35
• Textbooks and materials: $15
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

So sorry you're going through this. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I hope November is when things finally get easier. Thinking of Mekelle
As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. Wish I lived closer to Magelang so I could bring a meal. Take care.
Sending good thoughts. Shared this with my family. My colleague had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. God bless.
