Sandra's final semester of an accounting degree in Curitiba
A first-generation student, Sandra needs help covering tuition for the final stretch of an accounting degree.

I'm the first person in my family to go to university. I'm studying an accounting degree at the Curitiba Institute of Technology, and I'm one semester away from graduating. I have worked as a tutor to pay my way, but this term my hours were cut and I have an unpaid balance of $1,100.
The registrar has told me I can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. I have a 3.8 average, and my professor has written in support of my application for a payment plan.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support my younger siblings. Without enrolling this term I'd lose my place and my scholarship eligibility.
I'm not asking for a handout - I want to finish what I started and then help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
Where the $1,100 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $560
• Final term tuition: $360
• Exam and lab fees: $60
• Textbooks and materials: $120

you're not alone. Hope this works out for you. After 30 years in social work I know how hard it's to ask for anything. God bless.
Thinking of you and your family, Sandra. Looking forward to the next update
Thanks for sharing this. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. All the best.
