Samantha served fourteen years; now needs help to get home
A medical corps veteran in San Jose needs help with a first month of rent and transport to job interviews after leaving service with a service-related knee injury.

I served fourteen years in the medical corps and was discharged in 2025 with a service-related knee injury. I have been waiting fourteen months for support, and meanwhile I'm sleeping at my brother's place.
I have a plan: a first month of rent and transport to job interviews. The quote I have comes to $4,200.
I'm receiving counseling through the veterans' clinic and am committed to my recovery. Structure and a stable place to live are the missing pieces.
I'd be grateful for any help and will share updates on how I'm doing.
I'll post invoices, with personal details hidden.
Where the $4,200 goes:
• Housing deposit and first month: $1,850
• Training provider fees: $1,800
• Essential household items: $550
Thank you for reading my story.
