Ruairi received an eviction notice - help us catch up on rent
After a long illness, Ruairi is 3 months behind on rent and has a termination letter from the landlord.

After a car accident that kept me from work for 6 weeks, I fell 3 months behind on rent. Last Monday a termination letter was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $3,200.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by November, we must leave.
I have three school-aged children at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working two part-time jobs, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $3,200 goes:
• Rent arrears (3 months): $2,900
• Utilities in arrears: $105
• Late fees and court costs: $195

Updates from Ruairi
Good news. Because of your gifts ($140 in total) the first invoice got paid this week. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
Update from Kilkenny: I made the first payment toward utilities in arrears. We're at 2% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.

I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Sent it to 33 people at work. God bless.
so sorry you're going through this. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. I'll check back for the next update.
