Revathi needs three industrial sewing machines to reopen a tailoring shop
Revathi has run a tailoring shop for nine years; floodwater destroyed the equipment, and $300 will put it back on its feet.

For nine years I have run a tailoring shop in Salem. In July, floodwater took three industrial sewing machines. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Tuesday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 5 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go.
Where the $300 goes:
• Working capital for the first month: $120
• Shop repairs and licensing: $50
• Initial stock: fabric and thread: $130
Thanks for being kind about this.

Hang in there. Shared it with a few friends. Sent it to 12 people at work. Blessings!
how is Revathi doing now?
small businesses are the heart of Salem. Hope you're open again soon. Thinking of Salem
Good luck, Revathi. This could happen to any of us. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Thinking of Salem.
Hope things get better soon. Hope the shop reopens soon. We're a small family in Negombo but we're thinking of you.
Thinking of you and your family. This could happen to any of us. My neighbor had a similar thing happen so this one hit home
