Restoring the Pioneer riverbank: a volunteer-led project in Semarang
A neighborhood-led restoration of the Pioneer riverbank needs $300 for saplings and equipment.

The Pioneer riverbank has been used as an informal dump for years. This November, 69 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 120 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the district council, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage.
Where the $300 goes:
• Signage and educational materials: $30
• Waste removal and skip hire: $85
• Native saplings and stakes: $185
Thanks for reading all this.

Shared this with my family. I went through something like this 14 years ago and strangers helped me out. Blessings.
hope it all works out, Iwan. Shared it with a few friends. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Love from Half-Way Tree.
Hang in there, Iwan. Looking forward to the next update.
