Regensburg
Liberty Creek has been used as an informal dump for years. This June, 119 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 82 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good. We have a plan agreed with the district council, including native species selected by a local botanist. The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade. All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials. We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted. Where the $1,100 goes: • Tools and protective gear: $480 • Waste removal and skip hire: $430 • Signage and educational materials: $190 Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

  • Rooting for you, Paul. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry.

    • So sorry you're going through this, Paul. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Take care.

      • so sorry you're going through this, Paul. This could happen to any of us.

        • Keep going, Paul. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. After 12 years in social work I know how hard it's to ask for anything.

Sending good thoughts. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Greetings from Naivasha.
