Remedios received an eviction notice - help us catch up on rent
After a sudden layoff, Remedios is 4 months behind on rent and has a termination letter from the landlord.

When the call centre closed in April, Remedios fell 4 months behind on rent. Last Saturday a termination letter was taped to the door, and the amount owed is $450.
The landlord was understanding for a while, but has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by August, the family must leave.
There are a teenager still in school at home. Moving would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
Remedios has started working weekend shifts, and is applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $450 goes:
• Rent arrears (4 months): $230
• Late fees and court costs: $35
• Utilities in arrears: $30
• First month of rent as a buffer: $155

Sure. The biggest one is rent arrears (4 months), $230. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Thanks, that means a lot.
