Reem is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a degree in social work at Shubra University, and is one semester away from graduating. She has worked as a shop assistant to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $450.
The registrar has said Reem can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Reem has a first-class average, and a faculty supervisor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Reem would lose her place and scholarship eligibility.
Reem isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
Where the $450 goes:
• Final term tuition: $390
• Textbooks and materials: $35
• Exam and lab fees: $25
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
