Rebuilding after the hurricane: the Marketplace neighborhood needs your help
The hurricane damaged 35 homes in the Marketplace neighborhood. We are raising funds for repairs, supplies and temporary shelter.

The hurricane hit the Marketplace neighborhood on 6 March. My home was one of 35 damaged, and 5 families are still in temporary shelter at a borrowed warehouse.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $1,900 goes:
• Tools and labor for repairs: $590
• Food parcels for displaced families: $570
• Clean water and purification supplies: $210
• Roofing sheets and timber: $530
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

you're not alone, Irene. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like
Thinking of you and your family, Irene. Shared this with my family. It's not much but it's yours.
Sending love. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Greetings from Breda.
