Rebuilding after the building collapse: the families of Lakeview Lane needs your help
After the building collapse, families in the families of Lakeview Lane need clean water, roofing materials and bedding.

The building collapse hit the families of Lakeview Lane on 24 June. My home was one of 57 damaged, and 8 families are still in temporary shelter at the local school gym.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $1,250 goes:
• Roofing sheets and timber: $740
• Food parcels for displaced families: $135
• Tools and labor for repairs: $310
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $65
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

Best of luck, Lina. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Greetings from Verona.
Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. Put this on a community board in Juiz de Fora this morning. Take care.
Hope it all works out, Lina. Hope you get there. Wish I lived closer to Newport so I could bring a meal. Greetings from Amsterdam!
