Plant 4,950 native trees around Lotus Creek in San Antonio
Volunteers are restoring Lotus Creek in San Antonio; $900 covers saplings, tools and waste removal.
🇺🇸 United States1,526 views
Lotus Creek has been used as an informal dump for years. This July, 82 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 77 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the district council, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted.
Where the $900 goes:
• Waste removal and skip hire: $280
• Signage and educational materials: $165
• Tools and protective gear: $455
Thank you so much.

Good luck, Qian. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. God bless
Praying for you. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. Please keep us posted!
Sending strength. Hope this works out for you. Thinking of San Antonio.
Thanks for sharing this, Qian. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. After 6 years in customer support I know how hard it's to ask for anything. All the best.
Hang in there, Qian. Hope this works out for you. Wish I lived closer to Puebla so I could bring a meal. Love from Lagos.
